Artur Baró offset its carbon footprint for the fourth consecutive year

Artur Baró is a graphic services company located in Ametlla del Vallès. Its activity is based on the management of the production and service of printed products, in offset or digital systems. With its commitment to the fight against climate change started in 2013, it has calculated and offset the carbon footprint of its 2017 activity, renewing its commitment to Clean CO2.

Artur Baró has calculated the greenhouse gas emissions for its activity during 2017 and has compensated the 4.86 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (tCO2e) generated. The company has purchased carbon credits from the Andra Pradesh wind energy project developed in India.

The project will help in greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction by using renewable resources (wind energy) generating power that otherwise would have been generated using grid mix power plants, which is dominated by fossil fuel based thermal power plants. The project generates an annual average of 8.462 MWh of renewable energy, which allows a reduction of 8.152 tCO2e per year. In addition, the project increases job opportunities and helps the social and economic development of the area where it develops.

With this action, Artur Baró has obtained the Clean CO2 Certificate as a guarantee of the emission compensation made.
